The Hearts of Oak board have charged their new Managing Director; Neil Armstrong-Mortagbe to steer the club to success both on and off the field of play.

The FIFA Marketing Consultant was chosen amongst a list of 20 applicants for the Hearts top job after the club?s board meeting on Thursday.

The Phobians  have not fared particularly well in recent times in the Premier League.

The economic situation at the club have also been an area of major concern ? with the club unable to dominate the transfer market as it used to in the past.

The appointment of the former Ghana FA presidential aspirant is therefore expected to return the club to its glory days by winning trophies and also making the club attractive as a business.

?Very simply to make us successful on the pitch and also financially,? Hearts Board Chairman Togbe Afede XIV told Accra-based Hot FM of what is expected of their new managing director.

?We should win trophies, that should be the objective but we should also be able to balance our books.

?There should be prudent in managing our expenses and also attracting good sponsorship.?

The board is yet to meet their new appointee to settle on details and the durations of the contract to be offered him.

Hearts recovered from a disastrous start to their Ghana Premier League campaign to finish 5th in the just ended season.
