The House of Representatives Candidate presenting Maiduguri Metropolitan Council MMC Federal Constituency at the National Assembly under platform of the All Progressives Congress APC, Honourable Abdulkadiri Rahis has declared that all the Members of the Youths Volunteer Group, popularly known as the Civilian JTF in Maiduguri city and other parts of the state will be recruited into the military and other para-military services of the country if General Muhammadu Buhari virtually becomes the President of Nigeria.
He also said that if he is elected into the lower chamber of the National assembly he will ensure that all the teeming youths in his constituency are gainfully employed, “we will engage them in various entrepreneurship Ventures in collaboration with the federal and state governments”.
Speaking in Maiduguri yesterday in an interview with journalists Honourable Kadiri who has served five times as the Chairman of Maiduguri Metropolitan Council MMC during the administration of Governor Kashim Shettima as Caretaker Committee Chairman in the last three and half years said he had upgraded and renovated many projects that have direct impact on the people physically on g round for anybody to see apart from the poverty alleviation programme his council embarked upon in reducing the large size of unemployed youths with vehicles and KeKe NAPEP to make them self reliant.
He also noted that hospitals and clinics within the MMC have been either rehabilitated or supplied with sufficient drugs apart from free anti Natal for pregnant mothers.
On security, he said efforts were made during his tenure to encourage the youths to protect themselves and their neighbourhoods against the insurgency while noting that, “no meaningful government will not engage these youths that have sacrificed their lives, left their families, mobilized to protect Maiduguri and everywhere against the insurgency who have heartlessly been terrorising innocent lives and destroying public and private property. I don’t think there is any government or person that will accept such wanton destruction and brutal killings for nothing sake. This is one of the reasons I have decided to join politics to actualize my vision and mission that even a poor child can rule and govern. Politics is not only for the rich as obtained in the past in the state’, Kadiri said.
The APC Chieftain further assured the people of Maiduguri and its environs that he will do everything possible within his reach as a legislator if elected into power to influence on federal government to make its presence in Borno state, pointing out that, “there is no how we are going to leave these youths like this. We have to create jobs for them, find jobs for them at the state and federal levels and influence government of Buhari to establish industries and revive grounded ones like Lake Chad Basin to engage thousands of our youths both men and women”.
He also promised to fully utilize his constituency project allowances “to establish cottage industries and open constituency offices that will serve my people and as link with my people frequently unlike those ABUJA based politicians who have relocated to ABUJA. My family is here in Maiduguri and I don’t have house in abuja”.
According to him, “as part of my manifesto , youths and women will be empowered and alleviated to cushion the large size of youths unemployment who have been exposed to severe hardships and lack of employment despite their various qualifications but rendered jobless and idle in their fatherland”.
He noted that all those socio economic problems instigated the present teething security challenges in the state and country at large.
Kadiri also said he has never and does not want to exchange words with the former governor of Borno state Senator Ali Modu Sheriff neither his administration “but the manner SAS has been portraying himself as a thin god on every issue without giving regard to Almighty Allah and his diabolical attitude made me to abandoned him and attached myself with Governor Kashim Shettima and our party the APC. I can not follow him and even work with him. All those with him are ignorant and will come to regret sooner or later for doing so because he is never straight forward”, Kadiri added.
He however maintained that if elected he will continue to do more from where he stopped at the MMC when he was Chairman in the interest of the people and for future generation as legacy to reckon with by those who will follow his foot step in serving humanity or the people.
While thanking Governor Kashim Shettima for giving him the opportunity to serve his people and wished people of the state and country peace and fruitful election.
