IEDs thrown at officers during raid of a hideout

The Joint Task Force security operation has recovered some arms in a shoot out between the security outfit and suspected members of Boko Haram in Yobe State, Lt. Eli Lazarus, JTF spokesman, said in a statement on Wednesday.

According to the statement, the JTF was attacked while searching a suspected hideout in Angwan Jaji in Potiskum.

“In the process of searching the area, Improved Explosive Devices (IED) were thrown at our men.”

He said the casualty figure was not immediately available as at the time of issuing the statement.

It will be recalled that the Emir of Fika and chairman Yobe council of chiefs, Muhammadu Ibn Idrissa, escaped unhurt in an attack by a suicide bomber in Potiskum in August.
