The Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) key indices sustained a positive growth on Wednesday as stocks across various counters continued to gain.
The NSE 20 Share Index rose 25.31 points to close at 3,334.30 points from 3,308.88 boosted by Safaricom, Kenya Commercial Bank and East African Breweries Ltd. On Tuesday, the index gained 35.66 points.
On the other hand, the All Share Index similarly surged to stand at a new high of 176.65 points from 173.82 while the NSE 25 Share Index went up 57 points to close at 4,562.33.
Some 25 million shares worth 8.5 million U.S. dollars were traded on Wednesday, from 6.4 million dollars with the volumes moved remaining unchanged. The surge reflected rise in share prices across the board.
Foreigners represented 58 percent of the total turnover, with the investors maintaining a net selling position.
Bond turnover, on the other hand, stood at 28 million dollars up from 24 million dollars in the previous session. Enditem
