Surrogates of the ruling NDC vehemently defended President Mahama when he chose to celebrate last year’s Xmas in far away Dubai.
While some ludicrously articulated the point that the president needed to be away from the pressures Ghanaians
mounted against his administration’s failure to fish for practical solutions to solve the crisis that had engulfed the country, others also opined that it was his democratic right to while away precious time after working for a full year.
These sycophants rejected calls for the president to spend his time at home, the same people are calling on Ghanaians to resoundly clap for Mahama for choosing to celebrate this year’s Xmas at Bole. What happened
to principles? Why the defence of something they had considered to be appropriate then? John Mahama isn’t a
listening president, and one should not equate someone who can be described as reactionary to a leader
who listens to sane advice.
If Mahama and his party apparatchiks find nothing wrong with pitching camp in Dubai, why the sudden U-turn? The
decision to embrace Bole at the expense of cozy Dubai is nothing more than a political gimmick aimed at
deceiving the people that the president cares so much about the ordinary Ghanaian when it is an indubitable fact that he is the most insensitive leader we have had the misfortune to experience. Mr.
President, we have watched you play this chess game with us severally, we are therefore not buying what you are
selling to Ghanaians!
