The rally, which has attracted 14 drivers, is the first round of Africa Rally Championship (ARC). The competition ends today in Harare.

The Ugandan, navigated by Gihan De Silva, in Subaru N12 finished 32 seconds behind the pace setter Chase Attwell of Zimbabwe driving a Toyota Auris 2000s.

Mangat, who recently won the first round of NRC – the Pine Ridge Mbarara Rally early this month, needs to finish in a respectable position in order to score enough points as he is going to miss next weekend’s Pine Ridge Mosac Rally.

Today the driver will tackle six competitive sections (CS) spread over 114.88km. The event has a total of 564.01km ,of which 228.26km is competitive.
