Ezinlibo, Ndumesuazo and Bonyere Junction, which are a few kilometres from Nawule, now have potable water.

Mr Somiah, therefore, appealed to the elders of Nawule to contact the Assembly for the necessary arrangement to be finalised for the start of the project.

An Accra based businessman, Mr Henry Ofori, donated Ghc5, 000.00 towards the Water Supply Project for the town.

Mr Ofori, who was the Special Guest of Honour and Chairman for the occasion, promised to fund the Project in the Community in honour of a former Ambassador to South Africa, Lee Ocran, a native of the town and his intimate friend.

Mr Ofori, a local Partner and shareholder of Hydrocol Company, operators of the Desalination Plant of the Teshie Nungua Water Project in Accra, said some engineers of the Company would be sent immediately to the Community to assess the design of the Project for its take-off by the end of the year.

Mr Ocran earlier expressed his delight to the Chief and people of the town for the honour done his friend by embossing his portrait on their Polo T-Shirt for this year’s annual festival.

The Tufuhene of the town, Nana Kwasi Bonyah, said it was the wish of the Community that water would be extended to all corners of the town to enable the residents tap it to their individual homes.

The people used the occasion to honour Mr Ocran, who was also once Ghana’s Ambassador to Cote D’ Ivoire, and a former Education Minister, for his contribution towards the progress of the town.

In a citation, they commended Mr Ocran for facilitating the tarring of the roads in the town as well as the road from the town to the main Takoradi -Half Assini truck road.

He also facilitated the construction of schools and the extension of electricity to the town, among others, they said.
