The heads of state of Angola, Rwanda, Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda have decided to meet again on Feb. 21 at another quadripartite summit in Gatuna/Katuna border region between Rwanda and Uganda.
The fact comes in the final communique of the Third quadripartite summit that brought together Sunday in Luanda, president Joao Lourenco of Angola, Felix Tshisekedi of DR Congo, Paul Kagame of Rwanda and Yoweri Museveni of Uganda.
Gatuna is a town in northern Rwanda. It is a border town that sits across from the town of Katuna in neighboring Uganda.
The document also recommends the release of prisoners of both Uganda and Rwanda, duly identified and included in the lists exchanged for this purpose.
Still according to the document, the two countries must refrain from all factors “that may create the perception of support, financing, training and infiltration of destabilizing forces in the neighbor’s territory.”
The Luanda third quadripartite summit also expressed the continuation of the activities of the Ad-Hoc Commission, as a mechanism for monitoring the implementation of the process.
Yoweri Museveni and his Rwandan counterpart Paul Kagame decided to take subsequent steps towards peace, stability, good neighborliness and restoring mutual trust, according to the document.
