The Community service was conducted Friday 15 December 2016 to build a home for orphans as their actual house was seriously damaged.
This initiative comes from the authorities of the Youth council who visit these youth to know what they need as support to sustain their wellbeing.
The National Youth Council’s Coordinator SHYEREZO Norbert said they have decided to start this building because the same house that the youth live in had cracks inside its walls.
“We have planned to repair the house, but we take decision to build it from the foundation as it is not strong because of horizontal cracks”, Shyerezo said.
NYC coordinator stressed that they will work with authorities of Bumbogo sector to finish the house in two months ahead.
Nzeyimana Jean, young man among eight orphans, said they were doubtful on the future of their fragile home but the National youth council’s support comes in good moment.
“Once this home is built, we will be able to develop ourselves, we have no means but we hope to start business projects.” Nzeyimana said.
The members of the National Youth Council have also made two kitchen gardens for widows in Nyagasozi cell.
In 2015, Rwandan Youth with their leadership have organised special community services across the Country to become solutions to some challenges that the Nation faces.
More than 20,000 kitchen gardens have been raised to support poor families, and other people sensitised by youth to plant vegetables to fight malnutrition.
Rwandan Youth also participated in repairing the playgrounds to promote sports activities and leisure in Rwandan Community.
Rwanda National Youth Council is a government institution responsible to facilitate and encourage youth to participate in socio-economic development and transformation to peaceful, prosperous and sustainable society.
