A young man who belongs to a mobile phone stealing syndicate at Abeka Lapaz in Accra will forever regret joining the ?vocation? he belonged.

Anthony Tordzo,? a labourer, who stole a phone worth GH?250.00 belonging to a female student at Abeka Lapaz and caught red handed has been thrown into jail by the Accra Metropolitan Assembly Sanitation/Motor Court at Abeka to deter his syndicate and others from the ?smart job.?

The Presiding Judge, Nana AntwiBarima, slapped a sentence of 24months (2yrs) jail term on the young man in hard labour. The Judge did not offer the convict Anthony Tordzo the option of a fine.

The Judge, His Worship Emmanuel Nana Antwi Barima, explained that he slapped the sentence on Anthony to go to jail so that when he comes back he learns a lesson from the act and desist from stealing phones.

Earlier the Judge asked the convict whether he could produce the phone or its cash value of GH?250.00 but the young man could not, hence the sentence on him.

According to the facts of the case, the convict dashed in between the complainant of the said female student (name withheld) and her friend who were walking in front of Ecobank at Lapaz, and snatched her phone and quickly, passed it on to another phone thief who bolted with it.

Luck eluded the convict who was grabbed and handed over to the police station at Lapaz.

He was quickly processed and arraigned before the court.
