Ghana Duo Rabiu, Mensah Feature In Evian?s Pre-season Friendly Win Over Nantes

By Ameenu Shardow

Ghana duo Rabiu Mohammed and Jonathan Mensah were in action for Evian in their 1-0 win in their first pre-season friendly match against Nantes on Saturday.

While Rabiu started the game, Mensah was brought on in the second half as manager Pascal Dupraz examined the fitness of his players on the touchline.

A 38th minute striker from Algerian Nadjib Baouia was enough to hand Evian the win over their fellow Ligue 1 campaigners.

Rabiu has been linked to moves in England and Greece following a stellar season for both club and country.

The 23-year-old was one of the best performers for the Black Stars at the 2013 Nations Cup in South Africa and has managed to maintain that form since.

Mensah on the other hand will be hoping for an improved season with the Roses.

The central defender was often out of the team for games last season due to prolonged spells on the sidelines through injury.
