The President of Sierra Leone Julius Maada Bio on Tuesday confirmed that the country has recorded its first COVID-19 case.

He said that Sierra Leone is no longer immune from the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

The victim is a 37-year-old male who came to the country via Air Brussels on March 16 and he has been in isolation since.

However, it is not clear how many people may have come in contact with the victim during his isolation period.

Contact tracing is currently underway to search for those people for possible isolation and quarantine. Enditem
