The Social Welfare Department of the South Tongu District has undertaken a district-wide data collection exercise for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in the Dalive-Torzikpota Electoral Area.
The initiative was effectively coordinated and led on the ground by Evans Tsikudo, Chairman of the Special Working Committee, acting on behalf of the Assembly Member, Hon. Peter Narteh-Agbeyome.
While the exercise was ongoing, Hon. Narteh-Agbeyome participated in preceding sessions of the Amnesty International Ghana Change With Communities Workshop on Human Rights Education, which focused on Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV).
According to officials, the data collection aims to build a comprehensive registry of PWDs across the district to better target social support, resources, and intervention programs.
Residents and families within the Dalive-Torzikpota Electoral Area have been assured that the registration process remains open. Any person with a disability who was unable to participate in Friday’s field exercise can still be captured in the database by contacting the local committee leadership, the Social Welfare office, or the Assembly Member for facilitation.
