THE POLICE Administration has honoured Superintendent Patience Quaye of the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of the Ghana Police Service with a long and meritorious service award.
The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Ahmed Alhassan, who decorated her in a Police Management Board meeting yesterday, revealed that ?we have been following your work, which has helped in improving the image of the Service over the past years and would like to show appreciation.?
The IGP also indicated that the Police Administration decided to honour her to serve as an example to other officers.
?Your efforts in combating human trafficking led to the establishment of the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of the Ghana Police Service in 2008.?
Mr Alhassan noted that Superintendent Quaye and her team had rescued over 1,000 victims of human trafficking and child labour, and had helped victims rehabilitate and reintegrate back into their communities.
It would be recalled that barely a week ago, the Ministry for Gender, Children and Social Protection, honoured Superintendent Quaye and the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) for her contribution towards the course of women and children in the country and beyond.
