GhacemGhacem Limited has donated 500 bags of cement to the Tema General Hospital to assist in the construction of a surgical theatre.

The presentation, which was made at the project site, was received on behalf of the facility by the Head of Administration Mrs. Elizabeth Ami Dogbe and the Head of Nursing, Mrs. Magdalene Ayettey.

Present at the event were members of the Gender, Children and Social Protection Committee of the Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA), led by the Chairperson, Cecilia Akuerter.

Handing over a chit for the cement allocation, the Strategy and Corporate Affairs Director of Ghacem Dr. George Dawson-Ahmoah observed that such donation falls in line with the Company?s annual benevolence of free cement donation; the Ghacem Cement Foundation was instituted more than a decade ago to assist Government in developing the health and educational infrastructure in the country, hence such an event is no exception.

?We also deemed it necessary to assist the Tema General Hospital since the facility was within the catchment area of Ghacem?s operation; therefore, what is being witnessed today is a means of giving back to society.?

Dr. Dawson-Ahmoah commended the TMA for taking the initiative of requesting the cement on the hospital?s behalf, which he described as a true commitment to the improvement of Healthcare services within the Metropolis.

Receiving the items on behalf of the hospital, Mrs. Dogbe thanked Ghacem for being at the forefront of improving health infrastructure in the country, and urged other corporate organisations to follow suit with such donations to safeguard the lives of Ghanaians.

The construction of the surgical theatre, she disclosed, started four years ago and funding has been internally generated.
