Five African males have been arrested in Thailand on charges of illegal entry and using fake passports, according to the Center for the Suppression of Transnational Criminals and Illegal Immigrants on Wednesday.
The five Africans included two Nigerian nationals, who were arrested in Bangkok and Chiang Mai.
The three other suspects included a Guinea Bissau national who was arrested in Bangkok, a South African, who was detained in Koh Samui island and an Ivory Coast national who was arrested in Surat Thani.
They had allegedly stayed in Thailand with the use of fake passports in violation of the Immigration Act of 1979, according to the center under the National Police Headquarters. Enditem
