Trinity Fun Club on Saturday walked through the principal streets of the central business District of Accra to canvass for votes for President Mahama and the NDC parliamentary candidate for the Odododiodioo constituency of Accra, Nii Lantey Vanderpuiye.
The keepfit walk, organised by club, was part of series of events planned to mobilise votes for the NDC to ensure a resounding “one touch” victory in the December elections. With a slogan: “John today, John tomorrow, John forever” making up the trinity of the NDC, the club believes President Mahama will win the elections to complete the trinity of the ‘Johns’.
Scores of people including market women chanted “ede bee keke” at Mokola, Arena, and Abgogbloshie when the club walked through these markets distributing NDC flyers.
The event attracted elderly people who expressed their joy for such an opportunity to campaign for John Mahama to win the elections. According to them, Ghana will be peaceful under President Mahama who they describe as humble, honest, trustworthy and a very peaceful man.
They believe that the President will never lie to Ghanaians and therefore expending the energy left in them to support him is a worthy course.
The event ended at Piccadily in James Town where it was addressed by the chairperson of the Club, Mrs Faustina Baah (Yaa). She urged club members to play their part to ensure violence free elections. Wearing a “No election violence” lacoste provided by CDD-Ghana, she advised the club members against any acts of violence before, during and after the elections.
She said come 7th Decemeber, they should all go and vote massively for John Mahama and Nii Lantey Vanderpuiye.
She observed that only President Mahama can bring about development in peace to Ghanaians, explaining that he understands the needs of the people, since he is from a poor background; his humility and honesty will ensure he remains truthful to the citizenry.
The walk was led by the executives of the club; Mrs Faustina Baah, Naana Eshen, Vice Chair, Grace Anim, Organiser.
