Politics Candidate Verdict

Mr. Vincent Odotei Sowah, the incumbent Member of the Parliament (MP) for the La Dadekotopon Constituency, has expressed optimism about winning his party’s parliamentary primary election.

He said he was expecting the New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates deciding on who got the area’s parliamentary ticket to give him a favourable verdict.

He had served the constituency well – helped to implement social interventions and projects that had brought tremendous progress to the constituency

“I deserve to be given the opportunity again because what we have achieved for this constituency has never been done.
“We were able to overturn 17,000 votes in an NDC stronghold at the first attempt to our favour. It has never happened before.

“And since then, we’ve been able to make the biggest social interventions ever in the constituency and throughout the country,” Mr Sowah said, when she spoke to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) after casting his ballot in the primaries.

Two people – Mr. Joseph Gerald Tetteh Nyanofio and Madam Comfort Adei Kotei, are battling it with the incumbent MP for the parliamentary ticket.

At the Burma Camp Electoral area (LaDMA Office Annex), where 191 delegates are casting their ballots and as of the 1030 hours, 100 had voted.

Mr. George Agyapong, the Presiding Officer, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that with the encouraging numbers he was seeing, he was confident that all would be over by 1300 hours.
