Twelve New Patriotic Party (NPP) aspirants in the Okaikoi North Constituency have withdrawn from the election process and called for its suspension.
Three others who complained about the process are partaking in the exercise after meeting with the party?s regional organizer, Archibald Kobina.
The aggrieved aspirants are expected to present a challenge form to the national executives of the party after citing violation of the party?s constitution in the organization of the elections.
According to the aggrieved aspirants, the regional leadership failed to duly exhibit the constituency album and make it available to aspirants 24 hours before the electoral process.
Speaking to Citi News, the Okaikoi North Constituency Assistant Secretary, Emmanuel Lamptey said the election was flawed despite the decision of three of the aggrieved candidates to take part in the process.
He said: ?The electoral process has started but I requested from the commission officers a challenge form and she told me they don?t have a challenge form because it is not a national election. She said I should write it on an A4 Sheet so I wrote the challenge for which we are backing out of the elections.?
