Four Chinese men have attacked the Tema International hotel, beaten the Manager of the hotel, Mr. Zhang also a Chinese mercilessly without reason.

Information received by The Moment has it that, on April 10, 2012 about 5:30 to 6:00pm some four Chinese men who were also lodging at the same hotel, went into Mr. Zhang?s office with a pestle and furiously attacked him using the pestle to hit him severally resulting severe injury amid profuse bleeding.

Narrating the incident to this paper, a worker at the said Hotel Reginald Okain Parbey enumerated that on the said date and around 5:30pm, he received a call from a lady working at the hotel that his boss wanted to see him in his office.

According to him, when he got to the office, he saw four Chinese men straggling with his Manager, and when he (Parbey) wanted to help his boss out, one of the attackers drew a pestle and hit him and his boss in the process.

?As I was separating them, one of them, the one with the pestle used it to stab me. As we were straggling, Chinese woman, Madam Vic who is also lodging at the hotel came around after hearing the shouts from my colleague workers and took the one with the gun to her hotel room,? he said.

Reginald Parbey also revealed that, after retiring to their hotel rooms, he (Parbey) decided to trace them and see what their next action would be, and upon entering their room he saw one of them loading an action pump gun.

?After we were separated, I decided to trace them to their hotel room; there I saw one of them loading an action pump gun. We alerted the police for reinforcement.?

He also indicated that the police and military team dispatched to the hotel succeeded in arresting the Chinese men, after the rest three were hid at the hotel laundry.

However, snippets of information gathered by this paper is that out of the four Chinese men who brutally assaulted the Manager and workers of the Tema International Hotel, only one has been processed for Court with the other three set free. This development, according to Reginald Parbey must be looked at critically, calling on the necessary authorities to take an interest in the development to see to it that justice is given and all the offenders punished according to the law.

The case which has since been with the Tema Habour Police, went to the Judicial Court 1 but transferred to the Accra High Court 4 after two separate hearings at the earlier Court.

The case will be heard on Friday November 16, 2012.

The Moment is closely following up and will furnish readers with any further development to the case.
