-As Ashitey On A War Path; Transferring Staff From The Ministry
The minister for Employment, Social Welfare and Labour Relations Hon. Nii Armah Ashitey has been caught in an alleged cover up of whooping $4000 for the Trade Union Congress General Secretary (TUC), Mr. Kofi Asamoah who was supposed to be part of delegation to Brazil for a three-day programme but refused to travel and with the connivance of the minister, a process was initiated at the ministry for Kofi Asamoah to pocket an amount of $4000 as official allowance for the trip.

According to the facts gleaned from secure sources, the practice has been described as a clever scheme planned at the ministry by some few officers, to siphon official resources despite government?s effort to weed out fraud and waste in all the ministries.
In-depth investigations conducted had revealed that the minister since his appointment by President John Dramani Mahama has been devising dubious ways to fleece the ministry.
This practice, our investigation can reveal had made the minister to be on collusion with two substantive Chief Directors who in their capacity, had disagreed with his unofficial actions.
The minister of Employment Social Welfare and Labour Relations is alleged to have shown gross disrespect to the directives of the Chief of Staff in using state funds.
It is also alleged that the Minister made a request to the office of the Chief Of Staff for financial support to make a trip to the United Kingdom where he was invited to be a special guest for the celebration of Homowo. The request was denied but Hon Ashietey went further to initiate a process of borrowing the money from the ministry for the trip.
Our investigation at the ministry revealed that the minister was able to borrow the money but has not yet paid back.
Further investigation at the ministry revealed that, Hon Ashitey has become the sole ?Rambo? at the ministry, where he does not listen to any of his subordinates and has been threatening to transfer anybody who disobeys his directives.
Unfortunately, two senior officers at the Ministry namely; Chief director Madam Adu Labi and Mr. E. D Kata of Policy Planning Monitoring and Evaluation (PPME) at the Ministry have all been transferred to the Head of Civil Service and Ministry of fisheries, ?respectively with no detailed explanation.
Our sources can also reveal that, he has started threatening more staff of the ministry in public, saying if they were not careful he would transfer them from his ministry. The situation had made many of the workers to be under intense pressure.
