Access Bank Ghana is set to formally launch its new women banking initiative, dubbed ?W?. The initiative, forms part bank’s effort to help inspire, connect and empower women across Ghana, will cater for the needs of women across all stages and categories in life.
The Women Banking initiative is also part of the Bank?s overall financial inclusion strategy which seeks to make specialised banking services available to women by promoting gender equality and ensuring their social and economic welfare.
Unlike other products, the W gives women an ?All-in-One lifestyle Banking Solutions? where multiple products and components are packaged together into one solution to deliver the most appealing bundle of banking solutions to women either as a professional, a homebuilder or an entrepreneur.
Addressing a media session to share information on the W initiative, Head of Corporate Communications of Access Bank Ghana, Matilda Asante Asiedu said:
?At Access Bank, we value the role of women in building and sustaining families, societies, nations and the continent at large. The ?W? initiative is our unique banking approach to supporting women by providing innovative solutions that meet their lifestyle and financial needs.?
According to Mrs. Asante-Asiedu, the initiative will be launched on March 21, 2015 to signal a new dawn of banking with sustained and targeted activities that will support the advancement and empowerment of women in Ghana with Access Bank as the driving force.
Mr. Stephen Abban, Group Head for Personal Banking at Access Bank Ghana further announced that a Women Banking Unit has been specifically created to ensure that women get the needed attention and support they deserve to compliment the contribution of the male population.
He stated that Women constitute more than 51% of Ghana?s population and are globally responsible for about 83% of all consumer purchasing decisions at home.
?Women constitute an important market within the economy, and we want use our banking business to empower our female customers to support economic development. Through the ?W? initiative, women will get financial support for their business, learn from our capacity building workshops and networking events, and secure sound advisory services to achieve their goals? he concluded.
