The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has warned that anyone who act as agents in this year?s recruitment and enlistment process for prospective candidates into the force would be arrested and prosecuted accordingly.

A statement issued by the Director of Public Relations, Lieutenant Commander M.A. Larbi, stated that the Ghana Armed Forces is an equal opportunity employer and that there are no authorised middlemen.

?Besides, the advertised vacancies are not for sale and that any person found parading as an agent or middleman would be prosecuted,? the statement warned.

The statement,Today observed, has sent shivers down the spines of crooks who parade themselves as recruitment agents into the force.

Thus, the occasional news of recruitment agents defrauding prospective army officers has not been heard of, at least for now.

Aware of the seriousness of the statement, those fraudsters have surely been forced out of business.

Perhaps, nobody wanted to be used as a scapegoat by a serious institution like the army.

The statement also warned that those who deal with such people do so at their own risk.

It also warned that anyone who presents false documents would face the full rigours of the law.

According to the statement, applicants are responsible for their own transportation, feeding and accommodation throughout the enlistment exercise.

Moreover, ?only short-listed applicants will be invited for the screening and election process? adding that ?all candidates are to follow Instructions given by the GHQ (Personnel Administration) only.?

The submission date for the applicant?s completed forms is Friday, March 29, 2013.
