?..As It Accuses NDC Of Awarding Contracts To Cohorts

A group of the opposition New Patriotic Party [NPP] in the Agona West Municipality calling itself ?Let Nana Come? has demanded full disclosure of the amount of money voted for the dredging of the Akora River at Agona Swedru.
It has also accused the ruling National Democratic Congress [NDC] of awarding the contracts to its cohorts, Las Advanturas, the construction firm undertaken the projects.
According to a member of the group, Kwesi Afreh, the NDC has blatantly refused to declare the exact cost of the project and its true source of funding despite persistent call from concerned members of the public.
According to him, the consistent refusal by the NDC to declare the amount of money being used fofr the project arouse the suspicion that some unscrupulous members of the party have the intent of benefittingfinancially from the project.
The project follows a severe flooding in the area about five years ago in Agona Swdru which destroyed properties running into hundreds of millions of old Ghana Cedis and also rendered many people homeless, particularly in Agona Swedru and Agona Nyakrom.
When The Moment visited the site of the project, work was steadily ongoing but attempts to get the contractor to ascertain the cost of the project proved futile, as he was not available at the time of the visit.
