Highlife legend Daniel Amakye Dede has requested celebrities in the country to donate part of their resources to support orphans.
He expressed sorrow over the complications that orphans go through; stressing that contribution of celebrities and high caliber personalities is highly needed for making life better and easier for orphans.
The legendary musician was addressing when he donated variety of items, including a Samsung television set, a decoder dish, 20 orthopedic mattresses and 20 metal beds to the Asante Mampong Babies Home, worth GH¢ 30,000.
Gallons of oil, biscuits, bags of rice, toiletries, boxes of instant noodles, soap, variety of fruit juices, mosquito repellents, insecticide sprays, and bottled water among other valuable stuff, were also offered.
Amakye Dede, who made the presentation on Friday, stated that the sole purpose of his act was bringing smiles onto the faces of the orphans during the Valentine’s season.
He pointed that the presentation was also intended to make living very contented for the children at the home, stressing that “they don’t have their parents so we should serve as their fathers and mothers.”
Amakye Dede, who is famous for his compassion, guaranteed that he would not hesitate to donate to the home and other orphanages in the country in the coming years, pointing out that he feels happy in sharing his blessings with the needy.
On behalf of the children, manageress of the home, Margaret Addae thanked Amakye Dede for his generosity, advising other well off people in the country to also give their share to support the home.
