The Youth wing of the All Progressives Grand Alliance(APGA) under the aegis of the APGA Greater Tomorrow for Good Governance(AGTGG) has expressed disgust over a report making the rounds within the nation’s polity, that Governors Willie Obiano of Anambra state and Chibike Amechi of Rivers State have been meeting and relating with a view to undermine the aims and aspirations of President Goodluck Jonathan, saying it was complete false.
The youth group who addressed journalists in Awka yesterday stated also that “no member of APGA at any level is or has been meeting with or working closely with Gov Amechi or even his proxies.
Reading out his 3-page document, copies of which was made available to journalists, Spokesman of the group, Comrade Emenike Sunday stated that neither Mr Dozie Nwankwo, nor Gov Obiano as individuals or in concert with each other have never been with Amechi in same political party at any time at all. “When Amechi was in the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) Nwankwo was in ACN and now that Nwankwo has since moved on to APGA, Amechi is in APC. That they all have their minds fixed on particular ideological goals for their constituents.
Coming short of calling out some names, Emenike blamed those they described as political prostitutes who have been shuttling from one political party to the other for all the confusion and sponsorship of the smear article. He said that Gov Amechi’s wife has no political involvement outside Rivers State. Also he pointed out that in Kwara state, the Saraki political dynasty has different colorations, where Senator Bukola Saraki, a two-time governor of the state belongs to the All Progressives Congress(APC), whereas his sister Gbemisola Saraki is of the PDP.
AGTGG, Emenike pointed out is set up to foster positive leadership attitude among members and to mobilize popular support for APGA candidates. They fingered some Senatorial and House of Representatives aspirants in the PDP who they said were very jittery the revolutionary popularity of Dozie Nwankwo, Chief Victor Umeh and Obiano would defeat them, as brains behind the campaign of calumny.
He described as infantile stunt the false accusations and misleading publications being circulated against Nwankwo, Umeh and Obiano, pointing out that the PDP aspirants know they stand no chance in the 2015 general elections in the state. So they now resorted to cheap blackmail against APGA and her very outstanding candidates. They put the blame at the doorstep of those that have no clear political ideology but shunts from party to party seeking opportunities at all cost.
Umeh, according to the group has stated it repeatedly that the APGA revolution in the country is now going beyond the Anambra political space. “We are going to present the best candidates in each state of the federation, whose image and political stature would win election landslide anywhere”.
The group accused the Anambra state deputy governor and his alleged puppet, Mr Mike Nkwocha, as well as Hon Uche Ekwunife to eschew trouble-shooting but to play by the rules, in the spirit of President Goodluck Jonathan’s transformation agenda programme.
