Ashaiman Tsuibleeoo Number One Basic school beat four schools to win the maiden municipal quiz competition at the Mandela Park, Ashaiman.

The quiz competition was part of activities to mark Ghana’s 62nd Independence anniversary celebration in Ashaiman which is the theme:”Celebrating peace and unity”.

Speaking at the event, Mr Albert Boakye Okyere, Municipal Chief Executive of Ashaiman Municipal Assembly (ASHMA) said, the Assembly had prioritized education and would work to make it a universal good in the Municipality.

He announced that government would soon provide free school uniform, exercise books, teaching and learning materials to urgment the free Senior High School policy.

Mr Ernest Norgbey ,Member of Parliament, Ashaiman, on his part, called on the youth to eschew violence as the 2020 general election drew near.

He again called for more police men and women to secure peace, law and order in the densely populated Municipality.

Over 15 schools including basic, vocational and second cycle schools took part in the March past, also part of the celebrations.
