Speaking with Angel TV’s ‘ANGEL IN THE MORNING’ show host Kwamena Sam Biney on Tuesday Atubiga alleged that Pastor Mensah Otabil has been a card bearing member of the NPP for many years now, clamoring for a top position in the party and therefore seeking the necessary acknowledgement.

Mr. Atubiga was speaking in reaction to the current internal challenges facing the NPP. He says the NPP has a list of competent personalities like Pastor Mensah Otabil to fit in any position in the party where there is vacancy therefore he is surprised the pastor has not been offered a place in the party in the face of the current troubles.

According to Mr. Atubiga the man of God has been attending high profile meeting with the New Patriotic Party from time to time.

In July this year the Deputy Secretary of the National Democratic Congress Koku Anyidoho also sighted instances where a meeting held to broker peace between the Presidential Candidate Nana Akufo Addo, National Chairman Paul Afoko and the General Secretary Kwabena Agyapong was attended by some key senior clergymen including Pastor Mensah Otabil.

Stephen Atubiga has picked up forms to contest for a seat in the upcoming National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primaries. He is contesting for the Binduri seat in the Upper East Region. He says his incarceration shall not disrupt vision of winning the Binduri parliamentary seat.

Mr. Atubiga was sentenced to three days in prison during the 2012 election petition case after making comments which were deemed by the panel of Judges of the Election Petition over the 2012 general elections as contemptuous.
