Up and coming Dancehall artist Atumpan, whose popular song ‘The Thing’ raised uproar in the media
for being nominated for the 2012 Ghana Music Awards despite the controversial nature of its lyrics was
apparently saved from disqualification by the lyrics of Stone (of the Bradez fame).
Insider information reaching NOWGHANA suggests that the positive nature of Stone’s lyrics
especially the first line which says “Take a ring, before we do the thing” saved Atumpan’s song from
disqualification because of its positive promotion of marriage and post-marital sex.
Attempts are being made to contact the management of the two artists to confirm this story.
