Awutu-Senya Feeder Road To Be Rehabilitated

Mandan Hannah Serwah Tetteh, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, has cut the sod for the rehabilitation of 53 Kilometers of feeder roads in the Awutu- Senya District.

Madam Tetteh, who is also the Member of Parliament for the area, said the town roads would not only be rehabilitated but would also be tarred to prolong their life span.

Addressing a large crowd of people here after the ceremony, the Minister stressed the importance of good roads towards the realization of the country’s development objectives.

She described as pointless arguments by people who claimed that the implementation of some development projects in recent times were being done by government as a result of the forthcoming elections.

Madam Tetteh said Ghanaians who actually had the nation at heart and had seen the good works which the National Democratic Congress le by President John Dramani Mahama had done within three-and-a-half years would definitely vote for the party to maintain the trend of development going on in the country.

“We are not implementing projects for votes we need from the people but for the importance of social-economic lives of entire people of the county who voted us into power,“ the Foreign Minister stated.

Madam Tetteh reiterated her call on people in the area, especially qualified voters, to turn out in their numbers on December 7 to exercise their franchise, adding that the government would do everything possible to ensure peaceful and successful elections.

Mr. Sampson Abbey Amarh, Awutu-Senya District Chief Executive, mentioned Senya Bereku, Bontrase, OsenKrudua, Awutu Bereku, Bawjiase, and Okulu Nkwanta as some of the beneficiary communities of the project.

Earlier in the day, the Foreign Minister led Management of Geisha Company Foreign Ghana Limited to donate dual desks to three schools in the constituency as their contributions towards the promotion of education in the country.

Other items the company donated to the beneficiary basic schools, namely Akufu-Krudua Catholic, Saint Peters Catholic at Papasi Number One and Bawjiase Sultany Islamic included exercise books and some of their products.

Speaking at separate ceremonies in the various schools, Madam Tetteh advised the students to take their studies very seriously to enable them to pass well to further their education.

Mr. Sam Zack, Managing Director of Geishia, said it had been the practice of the company to extend such assistance to institutions where its operates from time to time.

He expressed the hope that the donation would go a long way to inspire the management of the schools to give of their best to help raise the standard of education in the area.
