Former military president, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (rtd) who left for medical treatment in Germany has undergone surgery for an undisclosed ailment at a highbrow hospital in the country.
It was learnt that the former Nigeria leader left Nigeria on September 6, 2014 and underwent a successful surgery five days later.
A source close to Babangida?s Hill Top residence said that the ailing former military leader was to have travelled for a routine medical checkup before his last birthday on August 17, 2014, but was prevailed upon by family members to stay behind to mark his birthday in Nigeria.
It was however learnt that after the birthday he decided to make the journey but that he was not in any critical health condition.
