Although saddled with logistical, infrastructural and financial challenges, Yaw Ampofo Ankrah of Beach Soccer Ghana stated that beach soccer will become a huge leisure and culture industry in Ghana by 2018.
?With the steady growth we have experienced and the obvious potholes we continue to encounter, by the time we overcome these teething problems, we should be wiser and stronger to build a robust beach soccer platform in Ghana.?
The foundation of Beach Soccer can be traced to coastal areas like Ada, Nungua, Prampam, Senya Bereku, Teshie, La and Keta as these areas have provided majority of players for the championship and division one national beach soccer leagues
Ghana is currently the only team to have a double tier (two leagues) competition since 2011 and has consistently been supported by Cal Bank and Voltic.
