A motorcyclist throws an IED into a crowd but no one is injured in the explosion

A motorcyclist, on Friday, threw an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) which exploded near a commercial bank in Jalingo, Taraba State.
The force of the explosion, however, was not enough to injure anyone or cause any damage to buildings around.
Confirming the incident, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Ibiang Mbaseike, said: “Eye witnesses said the motorcyclist threw the explosive devise and ran away immediately. None of them was able to identify him.”
He said the police were investigating the matter, and appealed to members of the public to assist the police with vital information that would lead to crime prevention.
A similar explosion was targeted at the Taraba State Commissioner of Police’s convoy a fortnight ago at the Government House roundabout in which 11 people died and over 20 others injured.
