Mrs Diana Obeng, Proprietor of Life Preparatory School, Nsawam, said children needed to be given good education in order not to become a burden on society.
Speaking at the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) meeting, Mrs Obeng said parents should rather send their children to school instead of indulging them in child labour and other ventures that endangered their lives.
She said the denial of education of a boy-child could make him a deviant who would engage in anti-social activities whiles the girl-child could engage in prostitution.
?If parents want to avoid poverty, the only sure way is to send their children to school to be trained to become prominent and useful to themselves, their family and their society,” she said.
Mrs Obeng said her school was founded in 1998 with six children and that for the past seven years it had excelled with 100 percent performance each year.
She said the school was admitting 50 children including intelligent but needy children and appealed to Mr Frank Annoh-Dompreh, Member of Parliament for Nsawam, as well as philanthropists and other Non-Governmental Organisations to assist the school.
