CWG Boss Mr Austin Okere to speak at 2013 Economist Conference in Nigeria

Accra, March 15, GNA – Mr Austin Okere, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Computer Warehouse Group (CWG) has been selected among the speakers at this year?s Economist Conference in Nigeria scheduled for March 19 and 20. The summit would bring together one hundred and fifty senior figures including government leaders, CEOs from major African and international corporations, leading investors as well as independent commentators and experts for a series of discussions around Nigeria’s transformation and the commercial opportunities emerging within this dynamic economy. 

The CWG Boss would join a high profile panel of Nigeria?s most successful self-made business people in conversation with the latest generation of young African entrepreneurs to discuss the stories behind their successes and how they shattered preconceived ideas, dealt with obstacles and created inventive business models. 

This was contained in a statement issued by CWG and copied to Ghana News Agency in Accra.

Speaking on the new breed of disruptive entrepreneurs, Austin said ?I believe that it is better to have a thousand millionaires than a ten billionaires. It is better still to have a million people with access to a hundred thousand dollars, if they can be taught how to nurture and grow it through entrepreneurial endeavor?.

On his participation at the Conference, he said he would share the success story of CWG adding that such success stories had the potential to contribute immensely to the attraction of capital to the region.

He said this combined with the entrepreneurial acumen and the youthful population would unleash waves of economic boom, which would lift the pile at bottom of the pyramid into the more desirable networked economy of the emerging global village.

The keynote address at the conference would be delivered by His Excellency Goodluck Jonathan, President of Nigeria who would speak on the transformation agenda and outline strategies for tackling terrorism.

Other speakers include conference include Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Finance and Co-ordinating Minister of the Economy, Dr. Akinwunmi Adesina, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development and The Federal Minister of Petroleum Resources Diezani Alison-Madueke and Babatunde Raji Fashola, Executive Governor of Lagos State is also billed to speak at the conference.
