Dce To Answers Tweaaa Question

Controversial District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ahafo Ano South, Gabriel Barima, known for his infamous ?who said tweaa?? refrain, is in trouble.

This followed a decision by the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development to commence investigations into events that led to his sudden outburst and eventual boycott of an end-of-year function organized to honour health workers in the district.

A statement issued by the Ministry of Information and Media Relations and signed by the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Akwasi Oppong-Fosu, who doubles as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Amenfi East said ?the Ministry of Local Government has initiated an investigation into the conduct of the District Chief Executive for Ahafo Ano South in Ashanti Region, Gabriel Barima, during an end of year programme for the District Health Directorate.?

The Ministry, the statement noted, ?is expected to complete its investigations by the end of January 2014.?

The DCE caused a stir when he boasted at the said function that he was rich and could access healthcare anywhere he wanted.

It appeared when the DCE was delivering his speech, some individuals in the audience were murmuring amongst themselves to which he reacted, ?I have been given the platform to address the people so nobody will listen to your noise.?

Just when he attempted to proceed with his speech, somebody made a ?tweaa? sound, compelling him to pause and inquire, ?Who said tweaa??

Not even a plea from someone in the crowd could calm him down.

He flared up and proceeded to ask whoever might have made that obviously scornful sound, ?Are you my co-equal?? and dropped the microphone.

He declined to proceed with his speech and walked away, only to return minutes later to disclose his impressive financial status in public, to the surprise of all gathered.

This was in the presence of some chiefs and influential people in the area.

When the issue first became public, some stressed the need for President Mahama, the appointing authority, to relieve Mr Barima of his appointment, but that did not happen until this latest development in which the Ministry decided to commence investigations into his conduct.

It was not immediately clear what possible sanctions the DCE would be made to face if found culpable in the infamous ?who said tweaa? outrage. But the refrain ?who said tweaa?? would continue to remain on the lips of many Ghanaians for a long time.
