DDEP Bonds Lead GH¢2.05 Billion GFIM Session

Ghana’s fixed income market processed GH¢2.05 billion across 432 trades on Wednesday, with DDEP bonds and Treasury bills splitting most of the day’s activity.

Bonds issued under the Domestic Debt Exchange Programme (DDEP) led the session by value, recording GH¢1,093,249,160 across 26 trades on the Ghana Fixed Income Market (GFIM). Treasury bills followed with GH¢950,956,328 spread across 401 transactions, the widest participation of any segment on the day. Sell and buy back trades in Government of Ghana (GoG) notes and bonds added GH¢3,906,351 across five deals. No new or old GoG notes and bonds, and no corporate bonds, changed hands during the session.

The most active DDEP instrument was an 8.80% coupon bond maturing February 12, 2030, which traded GH¢910,008,386 across nine deals, closing at a yield of 15.07% and a price of GH¢83.1217 per GH¢100 face value.

Among Treasury bills, the top-traded instrument recorded GH¢171,509,431 across 22 deals, closing at a yield of 9.75% and a price of GH¢99.8663.

The largest sell and buy back trade involved an 8.35% coupon bond maturing February 16, 2027, which changed hands for GH¢2,043,216 across three deals at a yield of 9.75% and a price of GH¢99.2236.
