President John Dramani Mahama has urged the Ghanaian electorate to turn out in their numbers to vote for him on December 7 to ensure he wins by a wide margin.
According to Mr Mahama, who is seeking a second term in office, 60 per cent of votes cast nationwide in his favour will be welcoming and will prevent time lost in courts.
This, according to him, will ensure continuity of the development projects he has embarked upon.
“On December 7, I want all of us to go out and vote for me. I don’t want 50.7 percent in the elections, I want 60 per cent. This is because if the gap is huge, there will be no need for election dispute in court,” Mr Mahama told party supporters at Sefwi-Wiawso in the Western Region on Monday, November 7.
This comes in the wake of the latest opinion poll survey by pollster Ben Ephson, which forecasts a win for Mr Mahama.
The result of the poll was a 52.4 per cent win for President Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the presidential elections.
According to the opinion survey conducted on November 16, 2016, the three-time presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo, is likely to garner 45.9 per cent of votes with the rest of the presidential candidates having a sum of 1.7 per cent of the total votes cast.
However, Mr Mahama is expecting to win by a margin greater than that projected by the pollster.
