The Ghana Statistical Service?(GSS) and nine other Ministries,?Departments and Agencies (MDAs)?within the National Statistical System?have received $40 million from government?and its development partners.?The funds would support the?agencies to produce timely statistics?for the country?s development.
Dr. Osei Boeh-Ocansey, Chairman?of the Governing Board of Ghana Statistical?Service (GSS) made this?known during the publication of the?Ghana Living Standards Survey?Round Six Reports in Accra recently.
?It is a reality that stakeholders?cannot demand more from the GSS if?the needed support in terms of provision?of resources and capacity development?is not forthcoming, he said.
Dr. Boeh-Ocansey entreated all?stakeholders within the National Statistical?System to collaborate with?GSS and other data production agencies?to produce up-to-date and timely?statistics for the general public to use?in their day-to-day decision-making?processes to achieve better results.
He urged management and staff?of the Service to work hard to produce?and disseminate a wide range of?statistics that are relevant to stakeholders?in Ghana and beyond.
