The vociferous Die Hard Supporters Union (Women’s Wing) has expressed their sincere gratitude to the Women In Sports Association (WISA) led by Madam Gloria Commodore for naming them among the 33 award winners for this year.
The Die Hard Supporters Union with members all over the nation would be honoured for their support for sporting activities in Ghana.
Miss Mary Osei Gyamina, secretary of the Union said they were surprise to be named again because last year the whole group was awarded, and this year it is the women’s wing.
She promised that they will continue to support and motivate th various nation teams and individual sportsmen and women.
She also appealed to all women sports groups to come together and fight for their common goals and promote their objectives.
Apirigu Chakapama aka Abraham Nkansah, the president of Die Hard Supporters Union which is one of the popular and oldest sports supporters groups said they deserve to be honoured because they do what others can not dream about.
He stressed that they are not only football fans, but support boxing, tennis, hockey, taekwondo, volleyball, swimming, table tennis, basketball, athletics and also promote Ghana Sports to places.
He commended the sports media for their good work for Ghana Sports and hailed all female sports personalities in Africa.
According to Nkansah, as Ghana plans and prepare to host the African Games in 2023, some of them must be contracted to support the event.
Now a coach, he noted that it is time that the best players are chosen to play for the national teams and not favourites of officials.
He attended the one week introductory coaching course which was held at the National Sports College (NSC) at Winneba recently.
He praised the NSA, GOC, SWAG and all sponsors of Ghana Sports
