The first midweek action in the 2014/15 GN Bank national Division One League (DOL), would be cleared on Wednesday and Thursday at all league centres with the live telecast coming off at the Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape Coast where former premier league campaigners, Ebusua Dwarfs would be at home to Elmina Sharks in Zone Two.
Dwarfs beat Bibiani Gold Stars 2 – 1 in their first home game of the season last Sunday, and would be eager to make it two wins out of two as they welcome the Sharks from Elmina. It won’t be an easy game though for the home side as the Sharks have been very impressive so far having amassed four points from their opening two games.
Another fiercely contested encounter is expected to be fought at the Dunkwa Park where Dunkwa United will host Asokwa Deportivo FC. The visitors have the maximum six points from their opening two game, and would look to add to that tally as they visit a Dunkwa United side that is also unbeaten having amassed four points from two games.
Tarkwa United will look for their first point(s) of the season as they welcome Starke FC to the T&A Park at Tarkwa. The visitors though are unbeaten after two games and will have something to say about this.
Also unbeaten after two games are Karela FC who battle XI Wise in a local derby at the Essipong Stadium in Sekondi. Karela are the away team in this fixture, and Wise will seek to use their experience as former elite division campaigners to turn this game in their favour.
At Bibiani, Gold Stars will look for their first home win of the campaign as they host a KFC Samosa side that is also winless after two games whilst Cornerstones visit Kasoa to play Proud United.
King Faisal Babes would be the odds on favourites to collect the three points as they welcome Windy Professionals to the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi with Samartex FC hosting Wassaman United at Samreboi.
Top of the Zone Three fixture list is no doubt the Kwawu derby to be fought between King Solomon and Okwawu United to be played at the Kwawu Praso Park. This is expected to be a very competitive fixture with both teams having a very good knowledge about the other.
Leaders D’International will confront Amidaus FC in another local derby at the Tema Stadium on Thursday with Tema Youth and Real Athletico battling each other in another derby at the same venue a day earlier.
Dreams FC have been very impressive in their two games so far, and they will seek to get that momentum going as they welcome Kotoku Royals to their Kweiman base with Danbort FC travelling to Akyem Techiman to face Istanbul FC.
In other games, leaders Pure Joy FC, will play away at Prestige FC with the game coming off at the Nicholson Park at Burma Camp in Accra; Mighty Jets host Nania FC at Teshie whilst Hot Steal and Sporting Mirren cancel each other out at Ho.
Action in Zone One will see early pacesetters Berekum Arsenal staying at their favoured Golden City Park as they play Atebubu Esperance looking to make it three wins out of three; Real Tamale United will seek to march that record as they host Amajande FC at the Tamale Stadium.
Unity FC will look for another home win as they welcome Guan United to their Goaso base as will Bofoakwa Tano who hosts Wa Africa United to the Coronation Park at Sunyani.
Berlin FC are the massive favourites as they welcome Bolgatanga Manchester City to Techiman; Tamale All Stars host Techiman FC at the Stadium Annex in Tamale; Bolgatanga All Stars will look for the three points as they host Galaxy FC with Utrecht playing away to Japekurom Mpuasomah at the Japekurom Town Park.
