Micah said at no point in his career did he use wee and that he had never commented anywhere about the use of cannabis.

Micah was answering questions under cross examination by prosecuting Assistant Commissioner of Police Moses Atibillah at an Accra Circuit Court.

Micah has denied the charge of possessing narcotic drugs without lawful authority, and he is currently on remand.

He maintained that the suspected dried leaves were not found in his room and denied that he was in his right frame of mind when he gave his statement to the Police.

Micah recounted after taking a drink offered to him by the Corporal Richmond Ayaayi, the investigator he could not remember anything until the next day.

According to him after giving a statement to the Police, he signed against the statement the following day.

He agreed with prosecution on the assertion that he did not get intoxicated after drinking the non-alcoholic beverage offered to by the Corporal Ayaayi.

Micah disagreed with prosecution that his evidence before the court was an afterthought.

He told the court that the Police denied him access to a counsel and they also took away his mobile phone thereby preventing him from reaching his relatives or counsel of his choice.

The Musician disagreed with prosecution that he phone was taken away from him because they did not want him to call people to interfere in investigations.

According to Micah, his mobile phone was taken away from him and sent to the Criminal Investigations Department, Ghana Police Service headquarters for a “search.”

When prosecution asked him who controlled his room, Micah state that he controlled his room however in his absence, his 21 year old sister was in charge.

Micah is expected to call a witness in the matter.

The presided over by Mr Aboagye Tandoh adjourned the case to November 16.

ACP Atibillah said prosecution had closed their case after calling three witnesses.

Narrating the facts of the case earlier, ACP Moses Atibillah said Micah is a resident of Ogbojo, near Kokrobite in Accra.

He said, on August 4, Micah was arrested by the Airport Police over an alleged extortion case currently under investigation.

ACP Atibillah said the following day, at about 1130 hours, the police and the accused person visited Micah’s house to conduct a search and in the process, a quantity of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp was found concealed in Micah’s “back pack”.
