Head Coach of Elmina Sharks Kobina Amissah has pointed out that, he was happy to pick a point, when his charges engaged Great Olympics in match-day three of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) in Accra on Wednesday.
The game ended 2-2.
League new entrants, Sharks came from behind to earn a point in the encounter and the coach after the match said, he was lucky with the score line.
Olympics’ Striker Abel Manomey scored a brace to put his side ahead in the first half, until Benjamin Tweneboah and Joseph Mensah pulled parity for Sharks from recess.
According to the coach, though his side was presented with glorious opportunities to snatch the maximum points, their opponent was on point to deny them the win.
The coach said ‘‘it was a nice game and we are lucky to pick a point here. We had clear opportunities, but we were unable to utilize them. Missing chances of this nature happens in football.’’
Coach Amissah mentioned that, both teams were under pressure to impress, having joined from the second tier division this season.
Sharks will play Tema Youth in match-day 4 and Amissah said he will map up a different strategy to emerge victorious.
