05th March 2014
March 6th 2014 marks Ghana?s 57th year of Independence. One of Nkrumah?s aims was to send Ghanaians out of the country to be educated and then for them to return with this knowledge to make Ghana great and strong. This vision is still being realised by the number of Ghanaians returning to Ghana and contributing to the development of our nation through business, finance and education such as winner of the Elon University Entrepreneurship Medal, Patrick Awuah. Awuah returned to Ghana after studying and working in the US to build one of the finest further education institutions in Ghana, Ashesi University.
It is not just in education that Ghana is seeing the benefits of its returnees, Ernest Hanson, the Co-Director of Beaufort Properties, returned to Ghana in 2008 and has contributed to the creation of over 150 homes. These homes have created the realisation of affordable, comfortable living space in central Accra for the emerging middle class in Ghana and the increasing number of Diaspora seeking a place to call home. His efforts have not gone un-noticed as he has been nominated for the ?Best Entrepreneur Real Estate & Properties Development? Award 2014.
Hanson has combined his home grown knowledge of what the Ghanaian wants in their own property, with the conveniences and adjustments that modern Accra living necessitates. Beaufort Properties is dedicated to demystifying the property sector in Ghana to assist indigenous, the Diaspora and International investors to understand the sector and invest comfortably. They will be sharing their knowledge this month at two events in the UK: Homecoming Revolution and Business in Africa Pays where they have been invited to speak.
?We believe Beaufort Properties plays a major role in the local economy through our various partners in the real estate value chain? – from land acquisition, work with estate agents, employment of subcontractors and through our structure, Beaufort Ridge?s? role in increasing the level of pride and comfort our buildings can instil in the community. The passion and effort we are putting in our building will attract foreign investment which will assist build our economy and show Ghana?s emerging middle class and Diaspora their way to a space they can call their own.?
