Labour Party gubernatorial candidate in Oyo state ?Otunba Adebayo Alao Akala has assured the people of Erunmu that his administration will continue with the stalled Erumu dry Port Project if elected.
Otunba Alao Akala gave this assurance at the palace of Baale of Erunmu Oba Philip Adetayo Babarinde during the campaign tour of Egbeda local government area of the state on friday.
The former governor recall how his government secure the land, compensated the land owners and the community and started the project but was stoped by his predecessor who did not share the same vision with him but only pay lip services to laudable projects of such magnitude.
” Since I left nothing serious has been done at the sit and I am here again in the race with an assurance that if re -elected I will ensure completion of the projects and ensure it function effectively”.
The former governor who also lament the derths of inftrastructure in the area also promise infrastructural ?build up for the communities in Egbeda local government ” my government will embark on serious infrastructural development of both the rural and urban area In the state and I can assure you Egbeda local government will not be left out.”
The Baale of Erunnu Oba Adetayo Babarinde in his remark commended Otunba Akala for the steps taken while in office particularly on the establishment of dry port at Erumu and expresses dismay over the abandoment of the projects since he left.
The monarch who spoke through one of his chief Alhaji Yusuf Ajadi also urge the government to hasten development on the project ” your government compensated us for our land and we appreciates that but we are not happy seeing our land not being use for the purpose it is meant for, we want you to do something as soon as you take over the mantle of leadership, we are assuring you of our support ?”
Also the former governor visited Egbeda market, Fasade plank market and other where he assured people of all round development and loan facilities for traders.
