Ethiopia’s telecom monopoly, Ethio-Telecom, on Thursday blamed “technical problem” for a nationwide internet and phone network blackout earlier this week.
In a press statement, Ethio-Telecom said a “technical problem” on Tuesday caused several hours of network and phone network blackout across Ethiopia.
Ethiopia experienced a phone network outage starting from 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday and an internet network blackout starting from 7:10 p.m.
“The phone and network outage blackout ended at about 10:30 p.m., when Ethio-Telecom managed to restore full telecommunication services,” said the Ethio-Telecom statement.
Ethio-Telecom statement didn’t specify what kind of “technical problem” caused the phone and internet network blackout. Enditem
