Mr. Kwadwo Adae Ex-DCE

FORMER District Chief Executive of Sekyere East, Mr. Kwadwo Adae has defended his integrity as an honest person and thus debunked allegations of corruption. He said his removal from office in January 2011, was basically a function of the prerogative of the President and not for corrupt charges.

The former DCE has, therefore, dared his accusers to provide evidence of their claims of corruption, or forever shut their mouths in silence and not bring the wise good counsel of the President, who appointed him to the office and revoked it in his own wisdom into ridicule.

It has, since his removal from office, been rumoured in Effiduase and surrounding communities by his accusers that Mr. Adae abused his office and amassed wealth indiscriminately which allegations called for his removal.

Mr. Adae is said to have built houses, acquired vehicles and sent his sons abroad while in office but he has debunked the allegations in an interview with The Chronicle saying “I am clean and I have acquired every property through my own sweat and toil”.

He affirmed his defence in the declaration of his assets and liabilities to the government on his appointment, which declaration was receipted by the Regional Auditor on behalf of the Audit Administrator of the Audit Service on January 14, 2010.

He  said  apart from  farm lands he  acquired  after he had  declared his  assets, all his properties, had been indicated in the assets declaration forms to the government  as  requested.

He denied ever building a house. According to him, he acquired a plot of land at about GH¢3,000.00 at Ejisu-Akyeremade from his GH¢6,018.2 SSNIT Pension in 2009, and it is yet to be developed.

Mr. Adae says he owes cocoa farms at Woraponso which yielded about 70 bags of cocoa in the 2010/11 cocoa season.

The former DCE said one of his sons, Addae Sarpong currently in the USA since 2010 had won the American Visa Lottery in 2009.

He also said a VW bus he is operating was acquired with a GH¢20,000.00 loan facility from the Asokore Rural Bank and which he serviced at GH¢1,333.33 monthly from his salary, and currently with his meagre pension.

“It is not true that I abused my office to acquire wealth” he said  adding his  children  and in-laws are  gainfully employed and challenged anybody who has evidence of corrupt practices he engaged in while in office to tender them against him in a court of competence jurisdiction for his prosecution.
