She was a pupil at Beposo Presbyterian Primary School who met her death whilst on break and together with her colleagues, were playing around the post.
According to Mr Samuel Kwasi Yeboah, a teacher at the school, he was in the classroom when some of the pupils came to report the incident to him and when he and other teachers went to the scene, they saw the deceased lying in a pool of blood.
Mercy was rushed to Beposo Health Centre, but the Physician Assistant pronounced her dead and the body was sent to Mampong District Hospital for autopsy.
The burial service jointly organised by the two Assembly members in the town, the Presbyterian Church, the school teachers and the family of the deceased were attended by the Beposo community.
In a sermon, Reverend Simon Lambert, the resident Minister of the Presbyterian Church described death as inevitable but to the advantage of mankind.
He said Mercy’s death was untimely but no one should apportion blame, but should rather have faith in God who knows why she should die “at this time and under these circumstances”.
Ms Akosua Nkrumah, the cousin of the deceased said the family has lost somebody who was expected to grow up and be a shining example in the family but it is only God who could explain the sudden death of their loved one.
She thanked the teachers at the Presbyterian school, the Assembly members, Mr Kwasi Owusu Kodua, former Nsuta-Kwamang- Beposo New Patriotic Party Constituency Chairman and the Beposo community for the sympathy and assistance to the family.
