A group of New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters from various parts of the Wa Central constituency calling themselves ?Friends of Isaac? has donated T-shirts worth one thousand five hundred Ghana cedis(GHC1500) to the party?s parliamentary candidate, Issahaku Tahiru Moomin at a ceremony in Wa.
The coordinator of the group Seidu Issaka presenting the T-shirts said the donation is their contribution towards ensuring that the party wins the Wa central constituency seat held by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the December polls.
Mr. Seidu reminded all and sundry that before the 1992 general elections, the Wa central constituency was a stronghold of the NPP which they have won several times. He said this year the party will be making history by taking the seat by storm and winning it hands down.
?This great sign of victory is hanging precariously in the air against the NDC and their candidate and we the ?Friends of Isaac? are well aware of this singular fact of victory and we want to start pushing for it seriously till the ultimate is achieved.
?They have not been any change in terms of the wellbeing of the people and the provision of physical infrastructure to suit the status of the people since the country returned to constituency rule in 1992. This we believe will be reversed if the NPP candidate wins the election, he added??.
Receiving the T-shirts, the NPP parliamentary candidate for Wa central, Issahaku Tahir Moomin thanked the group for the kind gesture saying this is the first time they are receiving such a donation which he believe is exemplary.
Mr. Tahir said what the party needs is victory in the December polls and they are going to work until victory is achieved for the party in the December polls so that the toil of their benefactors will not be in vain.
?We are not going to relax; we will do our best as we have been doing before and victory will be ours.?
