Twellium Industrial Company Limited, a Ghanaian multinational beverage corporation has taken another giant step by embarking on a nationwide donation exercise as part of their contribution to support the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in Ghana.

Session of the donation exercise which took place in Accra saw the company donating one thousand (1,000) packs of Verna Mineral Water, 1,000 packs of London Oats Digestives biscuits and 500 packs of Rush Energy Drink to the Accra Regional Police Command.

In a related development, the company also presented, 2,000 packs of London Oats Digestives biscuits and 2,000 packs of Verna mineral water to the Office of the Second Lady to be given to the less privileged in the country.

Speaking to the media, the Marketing Director of Twellium Industrial Company Ltd Mr. Ali Ajami, said the donation was meant to support the security personnel who are working assiduously to ensure the compliance of the 14-day restrictions on movement to curb the spread of COVID- 19 in the country.

This he said, the company is not only donating to these two institutions; but would be donating to other intuitions across the country and the vulnerable ones well to help them ameliorate their predicament during the period of the lockdown. Emphasizing that the donation exercise would continue unabated in the country.

He also seized the opportunity to advise all Ghanaians to continue observing the preventive measures of regularly washing hands with soap under running water, covering one’s mouth when coughing and sneezing and usage of alcohol-based hand sanitizers.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Frederick Adu Anim receiving the items on behalf of the Accra Regional Police Command, commended Twellium Industrial Company Limited for embarking on such kind gesture.

This he said the items would go a long way to help boost the morale of the security personnel as they contribute in the fight against the pandemic.

However, he appealed to other corporate bodies to emulate Twellium Industrial Company Ltd in order to help contain the disease since the government alone cannot shoulder all the responsibilities.

He also urged all and sundry to continue observing the directives to help win the war against the deadly disease.

On the other hand, Mr. Alhaji Aminu Gariba, Operation Officer at the Office of the Second Lady, who received the items on behalf Samira Bawumia, applauded the company for taking such a judicious step to reach out the less privileged as the country grapples with COVID 19 crisis.

This he said, through the Samira Empowerment and Humanitarian Projects (SEHP), founded by the Second Lady, the items be would be shared to vulnerable equitably in order to alleviate their predicament during the period of the lockdown. Adding that, they will put the items to good use and enforce the social distancing measures in their work of life as well.

“While we stay at home to prevent the spread, let us continue to adhere strictly to all the preventive measures to avoid the spread of the virus,” he advised.

Twellium Industrial Company Ltd, producers of Verna Mineral Water, Rush Energy Drink and other non-alcoholic beverages have embarked on several projects throughout the country and this was spearheaded by their Marketing Director Mr. Ali Ajami.
